A Persona ID is a unique identifier that is randomly generated at the time of registration. This identifier is stored in the system and contains information used for processing and identity management.

An Enrollment Key is a unique string of random characters generated at the time of registration and sent in an email to the person being registered. This key is used during certificate enrollment as a means to ensure that the person enrolling their certificate is the same person that was registered in the system.

This feature is available in case the Enrollment Key was misplaced before a person was able to enroll their certificate. The enrollment information is sent again to the email address on file
